There's no doubt on what Swiss artist Leopold Rabus has been under the influence of, eh, sorry, I meant influenced by. He says he tries “to illustrate the precise moment when the spirit leaves the human body, voluntarily or involuntarily”.





I think their eyes are absolutely great, the fact that you only see the white of the eye in a lot of these paintings makes the characters even more distorted. The eyes have got a lot to do with the soul, or in Rabus' words "spirit".
