body painting by Chelsea Rose

Chelsea Rose mainly paints ornamental, psychedelic figures on canvas, and she calls them "Spirit Paintings". She has recently done a lot of body painting sessions, and I think her style of painting and her theme of Spirit Paintings works really well on live models.

This is Chelsea Rose with her Spirit Paintings. I like how nice they all look together at her stand, and the fact that she offers face and body painting as well. She has a very distinct style in everything she does. I kind of envy people who have found Their Thing, and has managed to narrow down their artsy interest into a very specific thing.

Chelsea Rose has a beautiful website for her art: http://www.chelsearosearts.com/

She also blogs: http://lucidrose.blogspot.com/
I find it interesting to get a behind the scenes look at how other creative people go about their creativeness, and Chelsea Rose's blog is a good example of this.

some cool stranger

I love the tattoo on her back. And her fluffy white hair and her style in general.

vintage tattoos

It's fun to see the expressions on their faces, they're totally full of attitude.

These photos reminds me of a lucid dream I had a while ago where I went back in time, like two hundred years ago. Everything was very realistic, and I was so excited. I tried to talk to some of the people I met, but they all just looked at me and scolded me as I wasn't dressed right and had piercings and all that, and I woke up before I was able to change the direction of the dream. How rubbish! And the most rubbish thing about it is that I'm sure that's what would have happened if I had gone back in time for real.

eye candy by Gian Paolo Barbieri

.. as promised ;)

Take note of how the head, or especially the eyes, are cropped out of the pictures. What sort of feeling does an image give you where the face or eyes of a person has been cropped out? What does that tell you? I'd find it interesting to hear your opinion!!

portrait painting by Sean Cheetham

Sean Cheetham paints portraits in a style that makes me think of the great masters. It's ace to see people with tattoos, piercings, hair spray and platform boots painted in a style like this!

This painting is a self portrait:I think I have a thing for good profile paintings. Or just paintings with any pose that seem fixed and static.

How great is this painting !!? :

This painting won the BP award in 2005:

It's all so cool and so well painted, I can't wait to see what sort of paintings he'll come up with next.

uterus tattoo

She loves her uterus!! I'm not sure I love mine enough to get it tattooed. Or maybe it's the other way around; maybe I love my skin too much to have a uterus tattooed on it. Nevertheless, I think it's fun and cool that this girl had it done! I wish I could see more of the garment she's holding down, as I like how it's got beetles sewn onto it (I bet you all noticed the beetles, when faced with the uterus-vagina view).

Mr. Cool Ice

Mr. Cool Ice is german, and apparently a clean freak. It's the german stereotype.. tidy, clean, organized and on time.. I hope it rubs off on me while I'm living in Germany. Mr. Cool Ice is totally cool and digs Vanilla Ice. He's getting a lot of shit on the internet for his choice of tattoos - a lot of people call them the worst tattoos ever.

The sunglasses on the back of his head are the bestest:

The worst tattoos ever? I disagree. I think his tattoos are cool, positive, over-the-top and funny. I bet this guy has tons of self irony and is totally fun to be with!

Mr. Cool Ice.. when he arrives, so does the party :)

belly button tattoos

what a very strange tattoo trend..

ok, so this isn't a belly button tattoo, but i sort of thought it fitted in with the rest nevertheless:

hmmm i love tattoos, and i'm all for humour and all that and i don't consider myself *too* conservative.. yet.. it feels like tattoos like these are best enjoyed on safe distance - on someone else's skin, on the internet. i wouldn't like something similar on my boyfriend. or on my younger brother.

a girl with a mighty mad style

i've only been on flickr for a few days and i've already found great stuff. today i found this girl. i'm loving her fringe, i used to have something like it when i was younger, it might have to make a comeback. i'm absolutely amazed by such intricate colourful hair bonanza but i don't even bother to comb my hair so i guess i'll have to stick with what nature has given me till i feel more inspired. i also really like the tattoos on her arms. and her make up and just her colourful self in general.

is this elf ear surgery or fake elf ears? i'm green of envy if it's for real:

check out her self portrait set on flickr.

i like how the bodies are abstracted and merged with each other and the background with the use of colour and pattern.
