diy cropped winged top

when tidying up i found this old sketch for a cropped winged top and got a bit distracted.

you see i love wings, but they're always too stiff and costume-ish to wear on an everyday basis. or even to parties. i remember totally destroying my friend lanna's wings at a party (i'm sorry lanna!!) because the wings weren't soft enough to acommodate my wreckedness.

then i found this teddy bat that i didn't need (who NEEDS a teddy bat anyway).

and as i'm the queen of junk and can never chuck anything away, i had to start crafting him into something more useful to avoid chucking him away. obviously a cropped winged top is very useful. and a winged teddy beast is absolutely perfect for that as the wings are soft, so you can lean back on them completeley comfortable without them being destroyed.

i found an old wollen jumper i never use and chopped it off just below the arms. when cutting, remember to leave a bit of extra fabric for sewing. then i stitched on the wings.

to make it fit nice, i had a look at the design of a cyber dog cropped moon jacket i have (it's a kick ass jacket, you can buy it here) and copied how it sort of goes up a bit in the front. remember, he who stands on someone else's shoulders sees the furthest.

and here is the final result:

my grandmother wan't very impressed, she said "YOU CAN'T GO OUT WEARING THAT!". but i can, and so can you; it wasn't hard to make.
